Chloe starts 1st grade

Can't believe Chloe has now entered elementary school! She looks so grown up in her uniform. She also starts to have gym class this year as well. She loves scrambled eggs and bacon so I made that for her first day. She was ready and excited to return to school and even more excited when she found out her kindergarten teacher was moving up to 1st grade and would be her teacher again :). She is also looking forward to see her school friends again, playing on the elementary playground and not napping at school anymore.

Grandpa and MOD visit

The girls had so much fun with this visit. Brooke is getting older and coming out of being so clingy to mommy. Both girls continue to be amazed and love Grandpa's magic trick of finding money behind their ears. They brought along pin the tail on the donkey which both girls had so much fun doing time and time again (there were 30 tails). The girls both got a kick out of grandpa "hiding" during hide and seek as a tree, the funny thing was Chloe actually passed him one time, it was too funny. We enjoyed a few meals out as well as cooking out at home. Pat and I were able to get away for a full 48 hours to the north shore here on Oahu to turtle bay which we enjoyed very much. Chloe Got a taste of being a big girl going on a stay cation to Waikiki with Grandpa & MOD. Brooke and I stayed for a for hours the first day and enjoyed some pool time and dinner all together before heading home. Chloe had lots of beach and pool time which she can never seem to have enough of. She also had an awesome time designing her own flip-flops. A very exciting trip for all and sad time always go by so fast.

Summer 2014

Wow Summer was a whirlwind of activity this year. Brooke has especially grown-up a lot over the summer. Her carseat was switched to forward facing (which she loves getting to see everything, everyone else in the van is looking at), she also had her crib converted into a toddler bed. She has done very well with the transition and still naps well and sleep good at night for the most part anyways :) Both Girls LOVE the water and we made many trips to the beach (Chloe enjoyed her new boogie board), water park, splash parks, pools and at the end of the summer got a kiddie pool for our yard. We also made a few trips to the duck pond and zoo, still favorites of the girls. We did 2 waterfall hies as well. We learned more about nature as we found some caterpillars in our yard on the citrus bushes and kept them, and released them once they were butterflies. We also did a craft outing of painting your own ceramics, Chloe picked a cat figurine, Brooke did a fish and I choose a pineapple napkin holder. Wow realizing doing the whole summer in one post is a bit long lol. Brooke saw her first movie in the theater, we went to a kid's showing of Rio for $1/ ticket overall she liked it and did ok but still a bit young will wait to bring her again until next summer. For the 4th of july the kid's did a bike stroller "parade" around the park just down the street then cook-out and fireworks on the beach at our friend's house. We did a cultural tour, the girls loved doing a little hula, a boat ride on a 800 year old man made fish pond, learning how to make fire and fix a coconut. We also visited a small dairy farm/egg producer here on the leeward side of the island, both girls enjoyed feeding the chickens and we all enjoyed the cheese and butter samples they gave us. To close out the summer Pat took Chloe on a day trip to Maui on a 10 person island hooper that just started flying out of the coast guard station so they didn't even need to go to the airport! They explore several beaches there and had fresh donuts from the bakery Pat & I loved there. It sure was a fun filled summer!
